Privacy policy

Lifetimer is a habit tracker that keeps what you log on your phone. There's no account to make, so we don't know who you are. This policy explains the little that does leave your phone, and how to stop it. "We" means the developer of Lifetimer, who makes the app.
The short version
- Your Lifetimes, entries, reminders, and settings stay on your phone. We never see them.
- Unless you switch it off, the app sends anonymous diagnostics: which features get used and reports of crashes. They never include your Lifetimes' names or exact amounts, and they aren't linked to you.
- If you buy Pro, your purchase goes through Apple or Google, and RevenueCat tells the app it's yours.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
What stays on your phone
Everything you make and log in Lifetimer is saved only in the app's storage on your phone: your Lifetimes and their names, emojis, and colors; every entry, session, and amount; your reminders; and your settings. The app's widgets and notifications read it from the same place. None of it is sent to us or anyone else.
Your phone's own backup, such as iCloud or Google backup, may include the app's storage if you've turned that on. That backup is between you and Apple or Google, under their privacy policies.
When you export a backup or a spreadsheet, you choose where the file goes, and it's yours to keep or share. When you save a share image, the app asks only to add photos, and it never reads your photo library.
Anonymous diagnostics
To find bugs and learn which features help, the app sends two kinds of anonymous information. You can switch both off at any time in Menu → Share anonymous diagnostics, and nothing is sent after that.
- Usage events, sent to PostHog: actions such as making a Lifetime, saving a session, or opening the Pro screen. An amount is only ever sent as a broad range, such as "15 to 30 minutes".
- Crash and error reports, sent to Sentry: what went wrong in the app's code, and the last few steps taken in the app before it happened.
Both come with technical details such as the app version, phone model, operating system, and language, and a random ID made when the app is installed. That ID isn't tied to your name, email, or any account, and it changes if you reinstall the app. Diagnostics never include your Lifetimes' names, emojis, notes, or exact amounts, and we have set both services not to work out your location from your connection. We keep diagnostics for up to 12 months.
Purchases
Lifetimer Pro is bought through the App Store or Google Play, which handle your payment under their own terms. We never see your card or payment details. The app uses RevenueCat to check which purchases you've made, so it can turn Pro on and restore it on a new phone. RevenueCat receives your purchase records and an anonymous ID, not your name or email.
When you email us
If you write to support@getlifetimer.com, we receive your email address and whatever you send. The app's Help & feedback email fills in your app version and phone system so we can help faster. We use your message only to answer it, and we delete support emails when they're no longer needed, or sooner if you ask.
This website
The site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or tracking scripts. Our host, Cloudflare, briefly processes standard connection details, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks.
Who processes data for us
- PostHog: anonymous usage events, stored in the United States.
- Sentry: crash and error reports, stored in the United States.
- RevenueCat: purchase records.
- Apple and Google: app downloads, payments, and notifications.
- Cloudflare: hosting this website.
Each may only use the data to provide its service to us.
Your choices and rights
- Switch off diagnostics in Menu → Share anonymous diagnostics.
- Delete a Lifetime and its entries in the app, or delete everything by uninstalling it.
- Turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Because diagnostics are anonymous, we usually can't tell which ones are yours, but we'll help however we can: email support@getlifetimer.com. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, and we treat everyone's requests the same.
Children
Lifetimer isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change what the app collects, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app. For a big change, the app will tell you too.
